Eric XL Singleton is most definitely one of, if not "the best" European rappers of the 90's. Born in Brooklyn, Eric taught himself how to play the bass guitar at a very early age. Being the only child, Eric would sit and listen to every song he heard on the radio and play along. In the early 90's Eric had an opportunity to go and hang out in Germany for awhile. It was there where he met and performed with some of the most talented musicians/songwriters and producers anywhere.

The "FuturSKool" was a production team that consisted of Eric XL Singleton, B. Stern and Wayne (Daddy) Roache. Bobby Stern, a world renowned saxophonist / songwriter / producer. Daddy Roach a top Jamaic4an DJ/Rapper and Eric. Together they made a unique, funky blend of Hip Hop, R n B & Reggae with elements of jazz & blues. Check it out!!

Eric had also reached success with a very popular European act by the name of Modern Talking, who where major in the 80's and had made a come back by the end of the 90's featuring Eric XL Singleton as rapper & MC. They went on to sell millions of records. By the year 2000 Eric was touring and performing with the one and only "Mista Luva, luva" himself. Shaggy and Eric go way back, along with a couple other names you might know.

Thru the years in the music bizz, Eric has been featuring on tons of projects like Cool Cut, G-Traxx, Sinclair & Wilde, Francis Ford, Nico, Hip Opera, Deep Down, World In Motion and many many more.

Every time Eric "Extra Large" Singleton grabs the mike, he prooves some fantastic rap skills that makes your head bump immediately. First time I heard him was on the Modern Taling comeback-track in 1998 "You're My Heart, You're My Soul'98". Then, for two years forward he fatured on every Modern Talking release and lifted the tracks a lot. But Eric had his first release already back in 1991. Then under the name XL Singleton. He released the album "Righteous Vibe" that year. From that album, you can find the superb singles "Downtown Girl" and "Tequila" for example. Eric has a lot of guest appearences, and you can find them in the discography. His most famous songs are for example "Suffer and Die" with Deep Down, "Sometime somewhere" and "The Riddle" with BOON, "Because I love you" with World In Motion and some songs with G-Traxx, Sinclair & Wilde and Francis Ford. From his latest solo-singles you can find "Take 5" and "Whola Lotta Love". There hasn't been any sign of Eric Singleton since 2001, but I am sure that he will come back with style soon. He is defenitely one of my most favourite rappers. Why? Just listen to him and you'll understand.

Eric XL Singleton has defenitely not left the building. There are rumours of a comeback very very soon...
